Individual Therapy

Are you feeling stuck or uncertain about the future? Is depression, anxiety, or trauma making it harder to get to where you want to go? Individual Therapy can help with:

  • Problems including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, anger, burnout, mood disorders, or substance use disorders
  • Relationship problems such as conflict and/or communication problems with significant others, family members, friends or issues with family of origin
  • Grief and loss, cultural distress or cultural adjustment issues, and spiritual issues

Group Therapy

  • Group therapy can provide you with new insights and perspectives, increased social skills, and enhanced support. Group therapy consists of treatment within a group session of up to 10-12 people. Group sessions focus on treatment of anxiety, depression, and stress, and assists with the development of coping skills.

Psychological Testing and Evaluation

BWI offers psychodiagnostics assessments and psychological evaluations for adults aged 18 years and older.

What is Psychological Testing?

  • Psychological Testing and Evaluation is used to identify and illuminate your or a loved one’s struggles with various symptoms including but not limited to anxiety, sadness, mood instability, attentional difficulties, and relationship problems. It can be utilized to diagnose a variety of mental health conditions including anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, intellectual disability, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorder. If you are interested in learning more about challenges you have been facing, psychological testing can provide you with an accurate diagnosis, answers to questions about your functioning, and recommendations for ways to overcome your problems.

What to Expect

  • A psychological evaluation typically begins with a clinical interview and involves a series of tests utilized to identify emotional or behavioral problems. Psychological tests are administered via written, oral, and/or computer approaches. Psychological testing concludes with a feedback session, where you obtain a comprehensive report and feedback from a psychologist detailing the results of your evaluation.

Health Behavior Consultation

Health behavior interventions for individuals diagnosed with diabetes focuses on increasing health-promoting behaviors to improve health outcomes. Individuals with type 1, type 2, or gestational diabetes will meet with a behavioral health consultant for approximately six 30 minutes sessions to improve motivation and medical adherence, enhance positive health behaviors, and reduce any psychological barriers associated with adherence and self-care.
